Obituary

Therese S. Brower, 84, of Skowhegan, passed away surrounded by her family in her home on Friday September 27, 2013, following a year and a half long battle with Leukemia. Therese was born on July 18th 1929 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Anne (Grenier) Cloutier. In June of 1952, she married Millard “Chuck” Brower a Brunswick sailor from Michigan. She was employed as a cook in Skowhegan and Cape Elizabeth schools until her retirement in 1997. Terry especially enjoyed her vacations at Popham Beach and North Conway. She loved to cook and was always ready to try a new recipe. She proudly maintained several beautiful flower gardens around her home and could grow what no one else could. Over the years, Terry enjoyed hosting and attending family reunions, lobster bakes in Lewiston, and large holiday gatherings. She adored being surrounded by her big family who were always first and foremost in her heart. We were blessed with a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We will remember her with a loving twinkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. We all look forward to seeing her again. Terry is survived and will be missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Millard “Chuck” Brower; her daughter, Linda Blodgett and husband Brian; her daughter, Gail Priest and husband Danny; her son, David Brower and wife Cathy; her daughter, Kathy Ladner and husband Dale; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The Brower family would like to thank Maine General Hospice for their help and support. We give special thanks to Michelle and Nicole, her angels that cared so lovingly for her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water Street, Skowhegan, Maine with Father John Mazzei officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. Donations may be made in Terry’s memory to the Maine General Health Hospice, In Memory of Therese Brower, Office of Philanthropy, PO Box 828, Waterville, Maine 04903
