Mary Jane Gourley, 67, of Waterville, went to her heavenly home on August 5, 2017. She was born May 5, 1950 in Sangerville, Maine, the daughter of Hugh Gourley and Clara (Trafton) Gourley Cowette. She loved going to the Wellington Church, Camp Sign-A-Watha, four-wheeling, the movies, and going to Sea Dog games. She also loved animals and spending time with her family. For many years she attended the L.C. Dill Center in their Leaf program in Skowhegan, she then went on to the Goodwill programs in Waterville for many years. She loved the home that she lived in and the staff at Petra Home in Waterville. She had so many special people in her life at the Petra Home. Everywhere she went, she was loved by all, and she loved them unconditionally in return. The family would like to thank Stephanie Emmens who has been a special person in Mary Jane's life for many years. She is survived by her sister Charlotte (Gourley) Stewart and Glenwood of Wellington and her sister in-law Barbara Gourley of Harmony and several nieces and nephews; Glenda, Tammy, Tony, Jinx, Lori, Peter, Terry, Chris, Tommy and Stacy and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Florence Harrington of Sangerville; three brothers, Ardane Gourley of Harmony, Michael Gourley of Harmony, Bernie Gourley of Sangerville, and her niece Cathy Stewart of Dexter. Viewing hours will be held on Thursday August 10, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A graveside service will be held on Friday August 11, 2017 at 3 pm at the Village Cemetery in Sangerville.
