Canaan – Louise V. (Pelletier) Savoy, 87, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side.
Louise was born on January 1, 1939, in Waltham, Massachusetts, daughter to Eleanor (Pruneau) and Jules Pelletier. She was raised in Waltham, where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and later graduated from Waltham High School. During her school years, she was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in Les Debonnairs.
Louise devoted many years to raising her family as a homemaker before returning to the workforce as an accountant. She worked for Seiler’s Food Corporation of Waltham and Tobin Food Enterprises of Maynard, Massachusetts, until her retirement in 1996. Following retirement, she permanently relocated to Canaan, Maine. In her later years, Louise hosted a radio show on Hooscow Radio in Skowhegan, Maine, known as “The French Hour” or “Just Beyond the Moon.” Using her French-speaking skills, she introduced listeners to music and song history, hosting more than seventy memorable broadcasts.
Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years and the love of her life, Philip Savoy, Sr. She was also predeceased by her brothers Jules Jr., Edward, and Richard Pelletier, and her sisters Madeline, Marie, Jeanette, Irene, Eleonore, and Lorraine.
She is survived by her five sons: Philip Savoy, Jr. and wife Linda of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; Scott Savoy and Kim Costa Warrington of Athol, Massachusetts; Steven Savoy and wife Amy of Nashua, New Hampshire; Derek Savoy and wife Shirley of Freedom, Maine; and Kurt Savoy and wife Amy of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Louise is also survived by her five daughters: Christine Napolitano and husband Frederick of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; Julie (Savoy) Sullivan and John Keele of Templeton, Massachusetts; Sheila Drop and husband Arthur of Baldwinsville, Massachusetts; Suzanne Ireland of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; and Karen Bradt of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved deeply and for whom she was often a second mother. Louise is also survived by her sister, Bernadette J. (Pelletier) Hart of Canaan, Maine; dear friend and companion, Earl Boyd of Canaan, Maine, and by his daughter Jennifer (Boyd) Lowe and husband Randy of Hampden, Maine, along with their daughters.
Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, Maine, on May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Celebration of Life details will be announced at a later time.
