GLENDON D. “GABBY” CORSON 1929-2014 ANSON, ME.- Glendon D. “Gabby” Corson, 84, left us on February 15 at The Anson House in Anson, Me. He was born in Athens, Maine, the son of Harry W. and Rosie M. (Corson) Corson on December 15, 1929. He worked as a woodsman in his earlier years right along the side of his family and neighbors. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed riding and tinkering on his bikes, and will be remembered as always having a smile for everyone. He leaves behind his two brothers: Leonard Corson of Calais, Erald and sister-in-law, Leora Corson of Athens; two sisters: Colean Brown of Skowhegan, Phylis Avery and brother-in-law, Sanford Avery of Athens; a nephew that he was quite fond of and went fishing with, Jesse Corson of Athens. He has numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sibling, Elden Corson, Welma Corson, Vivian Taylor, Elery Corson, Aaron Corson, Royce Corson, and Allen Corson. The family would like to thank Kim Falk for being there for him as his caretaker and the caregivers at The Anson House in Anson, Maine. Health Reach Hospice came to the house to give him care. All is very much appreciated by the Corson family. Relatives and friends may call at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, February 22, 2014. A celebration of his life will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Haynie, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Mount Rest Cemetery in Athens, Maine.
