Obituary

Elizabeth C. Stockford, 87, of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully Monday November 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born October 24, 1930 in Canaan, Maine, the daughter of Ernest Crocker and Mildred (Black) Crocker. Elizabeth married Lloyd C. Stockford on April 3, 1954 in Skowhegan, Maine, he died in 1987. She worked for Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan in her early years and she also worked for Solon Manufacturing. She then went on to run a childcare for several years in between working for Norrwock and Solon Manufacturing. She was a homemaker for many years also. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing and making quilts, cooking and talking on the phone with her friends. She leaves her three children, Deanna Blodgett and her husband David Sr. of Skowhegan, Galen Stockford of Winthrop, Jennifer Stockford of Waterville; five grandchildren, Darrell, David II, Christine, Michelle, Francesca; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ernest Stockford; three sisters, Katherine Hoskins, Dorothy Lewis, and Glennis Malbon. A graveside service will be held on Sunday November 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the East Skowhegan Cemetery, Oak Pond Rd., Skowhegan, Maine. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Cindy Wyman and the staff of Mainly Eldercare for the wonderful care that they provided. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
