Cathy Lynn Stewart, 55, of Dexter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 4, 2017 surrounded by her family in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born November 16, 1961 in Dexter, Maine, the daughter of Glenwood E. and Charlotte (Gourley) Stewart. Cathy Graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in the class of 1980, she then went on to attend and graduate from Kennebec Valley Community College with a business, marketing and management degree and she later received a certificate in Health Sciences from KVCC. She worked for L.L. Bean in their Bangor Call Center for a few years; she loved interacting with the customers while working there. She was also an independent distributor on line for a number of different companies. Cathy loved to do puzzles, enjoyed the Vampire Diaries, she loved talking politics, she was a great listener and was always there to help everyone. She was everyone’s rock. She is survived by her son Taylor Stewart of Dexter; her mother and father Charlotte and Glenwood of Wellington; two sisters, Glenda Stewart of Wellington, Tammy Stewart and her companion Mark Alton of Dexter; her brother, Tony Stewart and his wife Heather of Pittsfield; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Lacey, Hailey, Nikki, Jersie, Tony Jr., Kelsie, Collin, Grace, Landon, Greyson, and many cousins, friends and her beloved dog Chloe. A graveside service will be held at the family’s convenience later in the spring at the North Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
