Bea was a past president of the Semper Fidelis Club and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years. A hostess for 20 seasons at Lakewood Summer Theater, Bea thoroughly enjoyed working with the public. So much so that she also worked as Hostess and Dining Room Manager for Grants Bradford House Restaurant for 10 years. Surviving members of the family are her six children: Ronald Boardman and his wife Deborah of Saratoga Springs, NY; Douglas Boardman and his wife Annette (Sylvain) of Skowhegan; Richard Boardman and his wife Sally (Bolduc) of Scarborough; Jeanne (Boardman) Hogate and her husband Melvin of Cornville; Brian Boardman and his wife Lennette (Lawson) of Madison; and Thomas Boardman of Northfield, NH., as well as 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. At Bea’s and her family’s request, no service will be held. A private graveside ceremony will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at noon on Friday November 2, 2012 where Bea will be placed next to her beloved husband Harold. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. Bea loved to play the piano at the Redington and loved the music so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Redington Memorial Home Piano Fund, 11 North Ave., Skowhegan, Maine 04976.
