Alan Joseph Vieira II, 52 of Norridgewock, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday December 11, 2014 in Skowhegan, Maine. He was born August 25, 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts, and he was the eldest son of Alan J. Vieira and Joyce D. Crane. Alan grew up on the south coast of Massachusetts and after moving to Maine with his family several years ago, he made their home in Norridgewock. “Big Al” was an experienced truck driver and jack of all trades and was happiest with his grandchildren and at the poker table. He was predeceased by his father Alan Sr., a younger brother Brian Crane and a nephew Randy Lake. Alan is survived by his mother Joyce Crane of Norridgewock, his children; Rachel and Dow Buckner and grandson Braden of Stillwell, OK, Alan III and MJ Vieira and grandson Alan J. “AJ” of Sabattus, Brittany Vieira of MO, Chelssea Vieira and grandsons Kalvin and Westin of Farmington Falls, Danielle Vieira of MO, his sisters Jerilyn Vieira of Westport, MA, Kimberly Vieira of Fairhaven, MA, his brothers; Frank Vieira and Scott Vieira of Fall River, MA, Robert Crane of New Bedford and Matthew Crane of Norridgewock; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his girlfriend Rhonda Watson and her children; Alexis Page and Khadin Watson all of Norridgewock, and many close friends. Memorial viewing hours will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
